INDIA, BANGLADESH DISCUSS TEESTA PACT

Teesta River water disputes:-

 

Recently there has been a discussion about the Teesta River water sharing.It was said in the Decisions that we will soon implement the water pact. 

Representatives of India and Bangladesh will sit together and decide.  India Ministry of Hydropower recently held a meeting with Bangladesh in New Delhi In that meeting it was discussed how to divide the Teesta River

Source of Teesta river:-

The Teesta River originates from the bottom of the highest peak of India and falls in Bangladesh as a tributary of the illusions through Westbangal via Sikkim.Brahmaputra is known as Yamuna in Bangladesh, Teesta is a tributary of Yamuna.Teesta River originates from the zemu Glacier.

What does India, West Bengal, Bangladesh say

 Bangladesh says that the Brahmaputra River is an international river and if its borders meet only 2 countries, then the river should also be distributed equally We want 50%.

West Bengal WB If the river is coming out, then the first right will belong to the state And if we give 50% to Bangladesh then the space for irrigation is reduce WB demands 55%of river 

India says If the river comes from us, we will take more 

1. The Indian delegation was led by Pankaj Kumar, Secretary, Water Resources, while the Bangladesh leg side was headed by Senior Secretary Kabir Bin Anwar.
2. Water is a state issue in India and there is an election in the Indian state of West Bengal which considers Bangladesh as important for the state of affairs.
3. In Dhaka, the Indian High Yoga said in a statement that the two birds have appreciated the close cooperation between India and Bangladesh on the issue of rivers.

Bangladesh according to the report of Asian foundation in 2013 its floodplain cover about 14% of the total cropped area of Bangladesh and provides direct likely board opportunities to to approximately 73% of its population
